Step 3 - Check if you have all the data for validation

Validation of supplier invoices is a complex process that uses a wide variety of reference and transactional data like meter data, meter standing data, tariffs, site data, prices from the market and network information. 

Given the number of variables in the calculation process, it is not unusual to find missing data, invalid references and/or data that is out of date. 

One of recommended practices for users of the bill validation process is to run a report before the bill validation process to check what, if any data is missing or invalid. You can download the report in an XLS format, take corrective action and re-run the report until all of the data that can be corrected, has been corrected.

This can be performed by running the Pre Bill check reports for Gas and Power separately from the Reports menu.

The Pre Bill reports have multiple tabs, each containing details of different types of data that is either missing or invalid. You can choose to view one or more types of Pre Bill check failures by selecting/deselecting appropriate sheets in the report, as shown below and clicking on Download to Excel:



Check Meter Data

This tab contains all the meters and date ranges for which meter data is missing in the system. Please contact your Meter Data provider for the individual meters to get the missing active power meter data, they can send this to your metering landing area (FTP/Email) or you can manually upload the data using the Energy.Hub uploader.


 

Check Reactive Power

This tab contains all the meters and date ranges for which reactive power meter data is missing in the system. Please contact your Meter Data provider for the individual meters to get the missing reactive power meter data, this can be sent to your metering landing area (FTP/Email) or you can manually upload the data using the Energy.Hub uploader.



Missing Rates

This tab contains all the meters and charges for which rates are not available to do the calculations. Please contact Utilidex Support for these charge rates so that our customer support team can update these charges.
 


 

Check Meter Tariff

This tab contains all the meters and tariffs for which individual components are missing. Please update the tariff and contact your supplier in case you are not sure of any tariff or tariff component. 



Transmission Losses

This tab contains all the meters and GSPs for which transmission loss data is unavailable. Please contact your supplier if you do not have this data. 
 


 

LLF Data Validation

This tab contains all the meters for which the LLF code has not been set up or it is invalid. Please contact your Network Operator for this data.



Check Triad Periods

This tab contains a single row with a single column that informs you whether there are any triad periods that are applicable in the given date range.
